Total transformation of the property for optimal use, modern design, and particular attention to sustainability.

Minimalist Apartment: A Modern and Functional Renovation

The renovation of this facility involved a major functional and architectural transformation: from a residential home to a Family Home for the Elderly, with the aim of providing a safe, accessible environment with a strong focus on daily comfort. The project was born out of the desire to combine functionality, housing quality and inclusive design, taking into account the specific needs of the elderly.

Redesign of Interior Spaces: Centrality of the Person and Shared Life

The organization of interior spaces has been completely rethought to ensure conviviality, privacy and well-being, thanks to tailored architectural solutions and a careful choice of materials:

  • Multi-purpose community hall: the heart of community life, is designed to accommodate:
    • A’meal area with ergonomic furniture that is easy to sanitize and arranged to encourage socializing.
    • A reception area welcoming and functional, flanked by a practical checkroom for managing personal belongings.
  • Single and double rooms with private bathrooms: Each accommodation is designed to offer autonomy and peace of mind, with quality finishes, ergonomic comfort and provisions for personalized health care.
  • Private outdoor loggias: some rooms have small outdoor spaces that allow guests to enjoy the climate and natural light in complete privacy and security.

Total Accessibility and Safe Mobility: No Barriers, Only Opportunities

The facility has been adapted to regulatory standards for accessibility, with a focus on freedom of movement even for guests with reduced mobility:

  • Installation of an electric stairlift to allow connection between levels, in complete safety.
  • Barrier-free paths, designed with non-slip pavements, handrails at critical points, and wide-width doorways for use with walking aids.

Integrated Technology for Safety and Discreet Monitoring

One of the central aspects of the redevelopment was plant upgrading to the latest home automation and sanitary technologies:

  • Discrete monitoring systems: intelligent devices for monitoring the health status of guests, with real-time alerts for staff.
  • High-efficiency centralized systems: management of air conditioning and services with energy-saving logic and constant thermal comfort.

Colors, Furnishings, and Materials: Warm Atmosphere and Rural Identity

To promote the psychological and physical well-being of guests, materials, colors and finishes were selected that recall the local context and create a warm and reassuring environment:

  • Interior and exterior painting with neutral and warm shades inspired by the surrounding rural landscape.
  • Functional and ergonomically designed furniture, chosen to combine practicality, comfort and ease of cleaning.

Equipped Garden: Green Space for Well-being and Socialization

The completely redesigned outdoor area is an integral part of living quality:

  • Fenced-in garden and protected, equipped with seating, natural shade, and accessible paving.
  • Spaces dedicated to recreational activities, light movement and occupational therapy, which are essential for keeping the social and relational component of residents active.

Conclusions: A Family Home that Centers Daily Life

The transformation from a private home to Family Home for the Elderly is a clear example of how design can radically improve the quality of life. This intervention not only brought the facility up to current regulations, but made it a welcoming, respectful, and tailored environment for its residents.
