Renovation of Commercial Property for Premium Fitness Club: Design, Atmosphere and Performance
The project involved the complete renovation and conversion of a commercial property into a premium fitness club inspired by the DarkFit concept. The intervention aims to transform a conventional space into an immersive place where design, music and performance come together to provide a distinctive workout experience.
Architectural Restoration & Textural Identity
The building retains its original load-bearing structure, reinterpreted with contemporary elements that emphasize its industrial soul.
Structural elements have been embellished with matte black steel beams and profiles, inserted as metal details that recall the urban aesthetic and DarkFit look.
New Distribution and Multifunctional Spaces
The reconfiguration of the interior involved merging into a single open space that houses cardio area, weight room and functional training.
Interior pathways were designed in a smooth and intuitive way to manage user flow and ensure spatial-functional separations between course area, stretching area, and fitness room.
A powder-coated galvanized iron staircase with natural wood treads was installed, vertically connecting the functional areas while maintaining aesthetic consistency with the rest of the club.
The contrast between black metal, raw wood creates a strong visual identity, elaborating a modern and bold architectural language.
DarkFit Atmosphere: Design, Light & Mood
At the heart of the DarkFit concept is theimmersive atmosphere: the design integrates a programmable LED light system capable of transforming the environment into “dark mood” scenarios during high-intensity sessions.
The upholstery features dark surfaces, metallic inserts, and natural materials that alternate in balance to enhance the club’s minimal, muscular aesthetic.
Engineered flooring is chosen to provide strength, slip-resistance, acoustic comfort and durability, which are essential elements of a high-end fitness environment.
Matte black details, luminescent inserts and minimal surfaces complete the distinctive character, echoing DarkFit’s signature sensory design.
